Zagi Kozarov holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts Majoring in Psychology and Criminology. Zagi approaches her matters with a high regard of empathy and understanding of the many challenges Family Law clients are confronted with. She endeavours to provide her clients with immediate practical solutions in a cost, effective and timely manner. She utilises her wealth of knowledge and excellent communication skills to deliver outstanding results for her clients in all areas in which she practices. 

Zagi guides her clients from start to finish, individually tailoring advice to suit each specific circumstance. She has a genuine passion for helping people along with  an ability to present complex issues in a simple, easy to understand language, which makes her a skilled communicator. Where appropriate, Zagi will assertively litigate to further her clients cause. She possesses extensive experience in all aspects of family law including complex matters involving children, particularly relocation matters. In April 2020, she was successful in ensuring a child did not relocate overseas and remained residing in Australia. This case can be found in our blog section of the website.

Zagi Kozarov has extensive experience in the Criminal Justice System, as both Prosecution and Defence. Zagi is highly respected in the legal community with a dedicated commitment to the provision of high-quality representation. With a strong work ethic, sound forensic judgment and effective communication skills, Zagi strives to achieve the best results possible for her clients. She draws on her skills in litigation and her in-depth knowledge of legal processes.

Zagi brings to Kozarov Lawyers  the expertise of a Principal Lawyer and Advocate with a background in Psychology / Criminology along with over twenty years experience in the Criminal Justice System, including Corrections Victoria. Zagi is admitted as an Australian Lawyer, in the Supreme Court of Victoria and is registered as a practitioner with the High Court of Australia. The foundations of her career as a Principal Lawyer were built at the Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP). She was responsible for preparing matters in the Magistrates’, County, Supreme and Children’s Courts for Committals, Pleas and Trials. Accordingly, she has accrued extensive experience in the assessment and preparation of Appeals and Bail Applications, to both the County and Supreme Courts of Victoria, and has further been involved in cases under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997.

Her knowledge in the areas of Psychology / Criminology involves looking outside the obvious defences. She investigates further as to what may be the underlying issues and finds expert opinion based defences / arguments that other lawyers are not as skilled in identifying.
